Obituary

Raymond H. Whiteley, 94, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Barnesville Health Care Center. He was born April 17, 1920 in Quaker City, Ohio, son of the late William A. Whiteley and Emma F. Wildes Whiteley. He attended Bethesda Christian Church and was a World War II Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army. Raymond was a devoted father and grandfather. His love for his wife, Hazel, was beyond measure. They grew more in love with each passing year of their marriage, and at times, felt as though they were teenagers falling in love for the first time. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Hazel; sister, Edith Pully; brothers, Thomas Whiteley and Charles Whiteley. Raymond is survived by his children, Connie (Roy) Taylor and Gary (Faye) Whiteley both of Quaker City, Ohio; grandchildren, Michelle, Dakota, and Shania Taylor, Chris, Matthew, and Shawn Whiteley; eight great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be welcome to visit, Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home & Crematory, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio, where the service will be conducted, Saturday 10 a.m. Minister Tim Snyder officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio.
