Rebecca "Becky" M. (Burt) Crummitt, 78, of Martins Ferry, OH, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Liza's Place, Wheeling, WV after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 29, 1938, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late William Burt and Rebecca (Petty) McSwords.

Becky was a member of the First English Lutheran Church of Wheeling, Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority and was a volunteer at East Ohio Regional Hospital where she was involved with their cancer support group. She loved bowling and was an avid Martins Ferry football fan missing only a handful of games in sixty years. Becky also loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and WVU Mountaineers. In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Michael "Ted" Crummitt in 2002, sister, Dorothy Paolucci and brothers, Howard and Toby Marsh.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Sherry) Crummitt, Jr. of Martins Ferry, grandchildren; Erin (Michael) Hough of Wheeling, Rev. Timothy (Megan) Crummitt of Hampton, VA and Richard (Abby) Crummitt of Wheeling, great-grandchildren; Brody and Ella Hough, nieces; Stephanie Soucey and Becky Jo Haynes, nephew, Jeff Paolucci of FL, brother-in-law, Al Paolucci of FL; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends will be received Tuesday, 12-2 and 4-8 p.m. at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, where funeral services will be held, Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. William Ridenhour officiating. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
