Retha B. (Goddard) Ring, 84, of St. Clairsville, OH, formerly of Steubenville, OH and Jones Rd., Martins Ferry, OH died Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Forest Hills Retirement Community, St. Clairsville. She was born Aug. 17, 1923 in Forest Academy, TX a daughter of the late Erastus B. and Susie (Eddins) Goddard. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. "Bob" Ring, a son Gilbert L. Ring, and a sister Mildred Goddard. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Martins Ferry and the Married Couples Class. Retha volunteered for many years at East Ohio Regional Hospital and was a member of the Red Hat Society of Kennedy Park Retirement Community. Surviving are a son Philip E. (Cheryl) Ring of Worthington, OH, two daughters Pamela S. (Bill) Timko of Fairfax, VA and Mildred E. "Mitzi" (Eric) Probert of Steubenville, nine grandchildren Colin Ring, Keira (S.Sgt. Todd) Beckley, Paul Ring, Lauree (Joe) Handlon, Philip R. Ring, Andrew Timko, Sarah Timko, Kyle Probert, and Carson Probert, three great grandchildren Theren and Alexis Handlon and Cole Beckley, and her daughter-in-law Sondra Ring of Bowerston, OH. Family and friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 11:00 am with John Oliver officiating.
