Richard A. Smith Sr., 66, of Wheeling, WV, formerly of Bridgeport, OH, passed away July 17, 2018 at Wheeling Hospital.  He was born October 2, 1951 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Clarence and Helen (Britton) Smith.  He was retired from Mannings Inc. in Martins Ferry, was a member of Lansing Sportsman Club, Bridgeport Foresters.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Nancy Ikey, and Thomas Smith Sr.  Richard is survived by his children, Michelle (Bill) Hodgson, of Richmond, TX, Richard (Sherry) Smith, Jr. of Baytown, TX; companion of 20 years, Joyce L. Massengill of Wheeling, and her children, Dacia and Amber Massengill;   grandchildren, Ethan Hodgson and Michaela Smith; brother, James (Connie) Smith Sr. of Byesville, OH; and several nieces and nephews.  Friends will be received Sunday, July 22 from 2-5pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd.
