Richard W. Betts, 82, of Barnesville, Ohio, died Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab. He was born August 29, 1933 in Caldwell, Ohio, son of the late James M. Betts and Emma Logan Betts. Richard was very devoted to his wife and family. His grandchildren were his blessing from above, filling a special place in his heart. He and his wife, Ruth were always together and you never saw one without the other, an expression of true love. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Henry, Charles, Edward, Lonnie, and Gail Betts; sisters, Dorothy Luyster, Mary Ochsenbine. Richard is survived by his wife and best friend of 55 years, Ruth Betts of Barnesville, Ohio; daughter, Teresa (Chris) Gallagher of The Woodlands, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew Robinson, Christine Gallagher; and great-grandson, Colton Robinson. Family and friends are welcome to visit, Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio, where the service for Richard will be conducted, Friday at 11 a.m. Pastor Charles Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Batesville Cemetery, Quaker City, Ohio, where Military Honors will be presented by Belmont County Veteran's Association.
