Richard J. "Frank" Conrad, 86, of Elm St., Martins Ferry, OH died Fri. Apr. 11, 2008 at home. He was born Sept. 15, 1921 in Bridgeport, OH a son of the late Richard E. and Mary (Lehotsky) Conrad. He was a retired employee of the former Blow Know Foundry, Wheeling, WV, and also former co-owner of the Conrad-Meigh Gas Station, Martins Ferry. Richard was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bridgeport, OH, American Legion Post # 38, P.N.A. Lodge # 2220, Redman Club Tribe # 75, AARP, former Eagles #456 all of Martins Ferry, and V.F.W. Post #8848, Colerain, OH. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Virginia (Whitney) Conrad. Surviving are his two daughters Jean (Bruce) Maguire and Susan A. (Jim) Cecil both of Martins Ferry, a brother Edward Conrad of Martins Ferry, a sister Irma Zebresky of Columbus, GA, five grandchildren Richard (Geneva) Maguire, Dana (Gary) Rose, Jenny (Kevin) Long, Jeff (Kelly) Cecil all of Martins Ferry, and Candi (Tony) Failey of Charleston, SC, three great grandchildren Dylan and Breanne Long and Rayanne Rose, several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Mon. 2-7 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Tue., Apr. 15, 2008 at 11:00 AM where Rev. Scott M. Ness will officiate. Burial follows in Weeks Cemetery, Bridgeport, OH. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 870 Michigan Ave. Columbus, OH 43215.
