Richard Van Johnston Jr, of Belmont, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Wheeling Hospital.  He was born on June 21, 1957 in Martins Ferry, Ohio.  The son of Marlene (West) Johnston and the late Richard Van Johnston Sr.

Dick was an avid music lover.  He also enjoyed building models especially tanks.  He loved sharing jokes.  He was an amazing cook.

In addition to his father, Dick was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Terri (Sells) Johnston.

He is survived by his children, Richard Van (Christeen) Johnston III and Stacy Johnston, both of Barnesville, Ohio; his grandchildren, Landon, Tessa and Logan Johnston, Alexis Swallie (Caleb Meyer) and Brandt Mankin; his great-grandchild, Dawson Meyer; his brother, Jay V. (Marcie) Johnston; and sister Elaine V (Doug) Schafer.

Friends and Family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 10am to time of service at 12pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, Bethesda Chapel, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio 43719.  There will be a dinner at the Blue Moon Tavern in Barnesville following the service.
