Richard P. Saffield 74 of St. Cairsville, died Tuesday January 27, 2015 at Liza's Place Wheeling, He was born October 8, 1940 in Bellaire, a son of the late Archie and Nellie (Hollingshead) Saffield. Rich was a retired school teacher and coach for Union Local Morristown, and a member of the Christian Church Bellaire. Rich graduated from Bellaire High class of 1958, and West Liberty College in 1965 where he excelled in Basketball. He was a teacher and coach from 1966-1970 at Bridgeport High School, from 1974-1978 at Meadowbrook High School, and from 1979 till his retirement in 2010 at Union Local. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Gloria Gage. Rich is survived by his loving wife Carol (Meholovitch) Saffield, children Kelly (Gib) Tecca of Tallmadge, Ohio, Amy (Jim) Palmer Shadyside, Jackie (John) Hoskins-Cleek of Newark, and John Y. Hoskins of St. Clairsville, four grandchildren Rachel, Sam, Emma Tecca, and Tara Palmer, his close friends Kurt and Lois Stubbs, and also his two girls Missy Lou and Miss Binky. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Friday January 30, 2015 from 4-8 pm, where services will be held on Saturday at 11 am with Kirt Stubbs officiating, interment in Greenwood Cemetery Bellaire.
