Richard Lee Snyder Sr. 67, of Rayland died Saturday May, 10, 2014 after he lost his battle with cancer. He was born August 22, 1946 in Rayland, a son of the late Warren B. and Florence C. (Coburn) Snyder. He was a retired employee of Consolidated Coal Co. with 30 years of service, a Pentecostal by faith, a veteran in the US Army, a member of the Indian club, and the Dillonvale Eagles. He loved Blue Grass Music, playing cards and sailing boats. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He volunteered at several food banks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson; Corey R. Casey in 2007, brothers; Bill, John, Jim, and Butch Snyder, sisters; Virginia and Ruth Snyder. Rich is survived by his ex-wife of 38 years Carol "Kookie: (Wise) Snyder, one son Richard Lee Snyder Jr. of Cincinnati, daughters Veida (Kenny) Covey of Alexandria Ky., and Carole Snyder Casey of Dillonvale, brothers Nelson Snyder of Yorkville, and Paul R. "Sam" Snyder of Bridgeport, sisters Nora E. (Bill) Miller of Lafayette, Ohio, Eva D. Sempkowski of Glenn Robins, and Sinny (Chuck) Rundo of Cleveland, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 102 Main St. Tiltonsville on Thursday May 15, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm where services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 4 pm with Rev. James Agnew officiating. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Richard L.
