Richard Yourkovich, Sr., of Martins Ferry, OH went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2016 at age 67. Rich was born September 6, 1948 in Wheeling, WV a son of the late William and Nellie (Gostyla) Yourkovich. He was a long standing member and trustee of First Christian Church of Martins Ferry. Rich was a former member of American Legion Post #38 and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the Military Police. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Barbara J. (Misehhelder) Yourkovich and his four children, Tricia Cottman (Ron) of Orlando, FL, Richard Yourkovich, Jr. (Amanda) of Martins Ferry, Nicholas Yourkovich (Krystal) of Steubenville, OH and Karrie Glover (Greg) of Rayland, OH. His adoration for his grandchildren will not be forgotten by Sabin, Rylee, Cierra, Andrew, Addison, Ian, Brycen, Kole, Raelyn, Kace and Gary. He is also survived by his six siblings and their families. Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Tuesday, January 5, 2016, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Military honors will be presented by Belmont County Council of American Legion at 6:45 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be considered to be made in Richard's name to: Upward c/o First Christian Church or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
