Richard M. Theaker, Sr., 74, of Farmington, OH, died peacefully Thursday, July 30, 2020. He was born August 18, 1945 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late J. Mansell and Sara E. (Finney) Theaker.
Rich was president of M. Theaker Excavating of Farmington, OH and a member of Colerain Presbyterian Church where he served as a church deacon, elder, and session leader. He was also a member of the following: Colerain Ruritan, Ohio Valley Home Builders, Belmont Co. Farm Bureau (board member), Ohio Cattlemen Assoc., Belmont Co. Water & Soil Assoc., TMR president, Clairmont Development (president), Everly Concrete (vice-president), Landmark Board of Directors for 22 years, Colerain Fire Dept. for 25 years, Belmont Co. Flood Plain Appeals Board, FHA Board, Co-owner of Banfield Restaurant, Bridgeport Lodge #181 F. & A.M., Captina Creek Chapter #489 O.E.S, and his success as a beef farmer.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings: John C. Theaker and Mary Beth Jones.
Surviving are his children: Terri A. (Mike) Simpson of Farmington, Laura S. (Sam) Sutherly of Troy, OH and Richard M. (Jennifer) Theaker, II of Farmington, and his grandchildren: Nick, Raena, Emma, Samuel, Kayla, Ryan, and Jacob.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Joe Ellis officiating at the Colerain Presbyterian Church, Colerain, OH. Burial follows in Farmington Cemetery, Farmington, OH.
Memorial contributions may be made to Colerain Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society.
