Richard D. Wharton, 86, of Colerain, OH died Monday, August 31, 2020, in Liza's Place, Wheeling, WV. He was born July 30, 1934, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late William and Virginia (Davis) Wharton.

Richard was a retired Sales Representative for Carnation Foods. He was a member of American Legion Post #38 and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Ralph, Robert, and James Wharton.

Surviving are his children: Bill Wharton, Chuck Wharton, and Chris (Lisa) Wharton all of Colerain, his brother, Edward Wharton of Wheeling, and grandchildren: Jake (Kayley) Wharton, Luke Wharton, Ben Wharton, Zeke Wharton, Katie (Michael Neavin) Wharton, Cole Wharton, and Nate Wharton, great-grandchildren, Parker and Layla and his good friend, Betty (Vargo) Wharton,

Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. held with Rev. William O. Webster officiating. Burial follows at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
