Life well lived. That's our Mom, Rita Dawn Shreves. She recently cast off her earthly moorings and took her place amongst the stars, February 3, 2017 at her estate in Cameron, OH. She was surrounded by family including her devoted husband of 56 years, Richard L. Shreves.

Born in the pale dawn of August 25, 1927 in Wheeling, WV to the late Jessie (Woods) Schultz and Fredrick W. Schultz. Rita was a member of the Wolf Clan of the Cherokee Nation. She took great pride in her Native American roots.

Rita was a talented individual as an accomplished singer performing with several big bands of the 40's, including Tommy & Jimmy Dorsey. A gifted dancer she once danced with Fred Astaire. Rita was also an accomplished artist and writer, but best of all she was a wonderful Mom.

She is survived by her husband, Richard L. Shreves, her youngest son, and care giver Shannon Shreves of the home, daughters; Cheryl Crooks of Woodsfield, OH and Melanie Masi of Winston Salem, NC and son, Francis "Doc" Aubry of Long, SC. Rita was blessed with a plethora of talented grand, great grand and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her canine companion Noel.

Memorial services will be held, Thursday, February 9, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at New Life Church, 146 S. Main St., Woodsfield, OH, followed by a luncheon at Old Cameron Elementary School.
