Robert Blaney, 65, of Bethesda, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at Liza's Place in Wheeling, West Virginia, after a very courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 11, 1948 in Wheeling, West Virginia, the youngest son of Jacqueline Blaney of St. James City, Florida and the late Dwight Blaney. Bob was a member of Bethesda Christian Church. He was co-owner of the family business, Blaney Lumber, for many years. Most recently, he had been a substitute teacher for Barnesville Schools. An avid golfer, he loved the game. Bob was preceded in death by his father and sister-in-law, Shirley McFarland. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Donna Bolon Blaney; son, Rob (Jenn) Blaney of San Francisco, California; daughter, Shannon (Peter) Stambersky of Arlington, Virginia; grandson, PJ; stepson, Mickey (Carol) Bolon of Lima, Ohio; stepdaughter, Jennie (Jim) Ellis of Bethesda, Ohio; 14 step grandchildren; brother, Denny (Carol) Blaney of Ashville, Ohio, Dave (Jane) Blaney of St. James City, Florida; brothers-in-law, Robert Schultz and Terry (Edie) Schultz, both of Bethesda, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In accordance with Bob's wishes, a private service will be conducted at the convenience of his family. Pastors Tim Snyder and Barry Peters will officiate.
