Robert E. (Bob) Friend 87, of Wheeling, formerly of Bridgeport passed away Thursday June 22, 2023, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling, a son of the late William W. and Elizabeth (Miller) Friend. He was born April 30, 1936, in Bridgeport.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martins Ferry and a security guard for the former Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Martins Ferry Plant.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William, Jr., James, Virgil, and Donald Friend. Sisters Martha J. and Betty L. Friend and Suzanna Solmonn.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Lois M. (Reese) Friend, and a sister Mary Scammell of Wheeling, many nieces, and nephews.

Bob was a friend to everybody that he met.

There will be no visitation. Private entombment will be held at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove at the convenience of the family. Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside is assisting the family.
