Robert A. "Bob" George, Jr, 65, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Sunday, November 17, 2019 at home. He was born December 21, 1953 in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late Robert A. George, Sr. and Mary L. (Porterfield) George.

Bob was a correction officer at Belmont Correctional Institute (BECI) where he was recognized as 2018 C.O. of the year.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Ronald George.

Surviving are his wife, Pamela S. (Tirpak) George, his children: Ashley R. George of Martins Ferry, and Robert A. (Kristen) George, III of Sunset Hgts, Bridgeport, OH, two grandchildren: Callie and Brayden, his brother, James (Leah) George of Shadyside, OH, brothers-in-law: Dave Tirpak and Mike Tirpak both of Martins Ferry and John (Rosie) Tirpak of Venice, FL, and a sister-in-law, Mary (Ron) Weekley of Martins Ferry, several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Bernie.

Family and friends may be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 12 noon until time of the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. with Dave McFarland officiating.
