Robert William Faithful III, 89, lifelong resident of Bridgeport, Ohio, died Wednesday January 20, 2010 at Knox County Hospital, Mount Vernon, Ohio. He was born in Wheeling, W.Va. on February 23, 1920, a son of the late Fred B. and Natalie R. Jones Faithful. Robert was a retired Letter Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service; Church Deacon; past Master of Booker T. Washington Lodge #78, Bridgeport; Past Commander & Chief L.D. Easton Consistory #21, Columbus; Past Grand Deputy Lector of Dist #6 Prince All Grande Lodge of Ohio; Ohio University Minorities Scholarship Fund Board; Member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church; Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity; Graduate of Fisk University, Nashville, TN.; Past Patron of Star of Bethlehem #53 O.E.S.; U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Robert is survived by his wife Ruth Jane Cassels Faithful; three sons: Robert Wm. Faithful IV of Centerville, Va., George E. Faithful of Columbus, Fred L. Faithful of South Riding, Va..; five grandchildren: Frederick III of Colorado Springs; George of St. Louis, USAF Captain Shannon Faithful of Ft. Walton, Florida, Richael Faithful of Washington DC and Robert W. Faithful V of Centreville, Va. and two great grandchildren and several cousins. Friends will be received Sunday from 10 - 2 and 4-6 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio where services will be held Monday January 25, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with grandson, George Faithful III officiating.
