Obituary

ROBERT E. GATTEN

A lifelong resident of Belmont, Ohio, Robert E. Gatten, 81, passed away unexpectedly, October 25, 2020.  Son of the late Harvey and Dorotha Calvert Gatten, he was born April 28, 1939.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert L. Gatten and sister, Evelyn McKeen.

Robert was an avid reader of Western Books, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching T.V.  A Vietnam veteran, Robert honorably served in the United States Army, as a Cartographic Draftsman.

Memories of Robert will forever remain in the hearts of those who survive; his wife of 49 years, Sally West Gatten of Belmont; daughter, Lorie (Ken) Grob of Belmont; son, Timothy (Melissa) Gatten of Canfield; and grandchildren, Kaleb, Ava, Michael, Matthew, Nathan, Nicholas, John, Dylan, and Addison.

It was Robert's wishes, that there be no visitation. A Graveside Service, with Military Honors, will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 1:00 pm, Belmont Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Legion Post of Belmont #312, 101 E. Barrister Street, P.O. Box 71, Belmont, Ohio 43718.

Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, Bethesda, has been entrusted with Robert's care and given the privilege of assisting the family during this time.
