Robert A. Hinds, 68, of Belmont, Ohio passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at his home. He was born February 23, 1943 in Kirkwood Township, Ohio, son of the late Marian Margaret Van Fossen Hinds and Dalton Hinds. Robert was a retired machinist from Republic Steel of Canton and served his country in the US Army. Robert had a passion for woodcarving and shared his carvings with his many friends. Seeing his work, you soon realized the gifted man he was. In addition to his mother, Robert is preceded in death by an infant brother, Donald Leroy Hinds. He is survived by father, Dalton Hinds of Freeport, Ohio; wife, Evelyn Shaw Hinds; son, Daniel Hinds; and half brother, Charles (Sharon) Gearling, all of Barnesville, Ohio. A memorial graveside service will be held, Saturday, October 1, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at Sewellsville Cemetery, State Route 800 North, Sewellsville, Ohio.
