ROBERT E. "LEAD FOOT" SHOWALTER

Robert E. "Lead Foot" Showalter, beloved husband, dad, and pap, passed away at his home, with his family by his side.  He was born May 21, 1947 in Sewellsville, Ohio to the late Robert and Daisy (Tipton) Showalter.  Also preceding Bob in death was his son, Robert Paul Showalter and infant granddaughter, Lauren Showalter.

Bob's life was a blessing and his memory is a treasure to those who survive; his wife of 51 years, Brenda Showalter of Piedmont; daughter, Robyn Showalter of Piedmont; sons, Larry (Jill) Showalter of Bethesda, Augie Bartolo of Piedmont, Scott Showalter (Rita) of Salesville, and Ryan "Boo" (Jami) Showalter of Piedmont; grandchildren, Amber, Kimberly, Larry, Jr., Joey, Kristen, Josh, and Jake; sisters, Sandy Huntsman, Sally (Dave) Francis, Wanda (Don) Giesey, Bernice "Dean" (Bill) Gibbons; brothers, Joe "PeeWee" (Sue) Showalter, Melvin (Lois) Showalter, Dick (Cindy) Showalter, Earl (Diana) Showalter, George (Donna) Showalter; and his loyal friend and companion in this hectic world, his dog, Ruger.

A proud United States Marine, Bob served his country proudly and honorably.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 0366 of Flushing, VFW 5356 of St. Clairsville, Teamsters Union 697, and the NRA.  His greatest joys were his family and spending time with them, truck pulls, racing cars, dune buggies, and speed, earning him the nickname "Lead Foot". A strong man, he was a loving and supportive husband, dad, and pap.

Family and friends are welcome for visitation, Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, where services will be conducted, Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at noon.  Pastors Rodney West and Bob Merritt will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Sewellsville Cemetery, Sewellsville, Ohio, with Military Honors being presented.
