Obituary

Redinger (McAninch), Sally Belle

Redinger, Robert Lee

Sally (McAninch) Redinger passed away on Nov 6, 2020, at her home in Minnesota. Sally was born in Martins Ferry, OH on May 22, 1936, the last of nine children of Susan (Fry) and Frank McAninch. Bob passed away on Nov 22, 2023. Bob was born in Martins Ferry, OH on Feb 9, 1936, to Herschel and Laura (Armstrong) Redinger. He is survived by his brother David (Colleen) Redinger of Parkersburg, West Virginia. Both passed peacefully with daughters Leslie and Robin (Rick) Jones present. Sally and Bob started dating as sophomore Purple Riders while attending Martin Ferry High School. They graduated in 1954 and were married in Martins Ferry on June 15, 1957. Bob graduated from Ohio University in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, they moved to Chicago, IL where Bob started his professional career. Once their daughters were older, Sally went back to school and graduated with an associate degree in Sales Management and went on to work at various retail companies until her retirement. Bob and Sally eventually settled in Shorewood, IL.

Upon Bob's retirement in 1994 they began spending winters at their home in Naples, FL where they entertained family and friends escaping winter. Bob's hobbies were working on cars, was an avid golfer and a master woodworker. Bob used his high school experience at Ferry Hardware as he became the "fix it" guy as he accumulated a vast array of tools during his life. Sally was always involved in everything! She was a great bridge and mahjongg player and was known to have a good time and bring a spark to any gathering. In 2013, Sally and Bob moved from IL to live near their daughters in Minnesota. They wanted to be buried in Riverview Cemetery to have the "best view" in the Valley. We will miss their spark and presence.
