Obituary

Robert A. Talasis, 83 of Martins Ferry passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Liza's Place in Wheeling, WV. He was born March 23, 1940, in Martins Ferry, the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Gunnish) Talasis.

Robert was a retired Mill-Right from The Ormet Company. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Martins Ferry, a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an avid Ohio State fan and enjoyed swimming and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Constance D. (Renner) Talasis in 2009, and brother Richard Talasis.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Debbie of Martins Ferry and Stacey Singhaus of Triadelphia, grandchildren, Shyenne (Brice), Amanda and Thomas Singhaus and Haylee Gambs, great-grandchildren, Kynleigh, Harlynne, Milah, Matthew and Adonis, and his good friend Charlie Wilson known as CJ who enjoyed fishing with him.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry. Full Military Honors will be presented at the funeral home, Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 10:45 at the Heslop Chapel, followed by the funeral service at 11am with Fr. Thomas Marut officiating. The burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.
