Robert E. Unterzuber, 82, of Martha St., Yorkville, OH died Sun., Nov. 12, 2006 at Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born Apr. 12, 1924 in Key Ridge, Bellaire, OH a son of the late Everett H. and Lydia Belle (Kirkland) Unterzuber. Robert was a very honorable man. He was raised in the Methodist Children's Home in Worthington, OH from 1930 to 1938. He then moved to Bellaire and worked on farms to support himself. He was a graduate of Bellaire High School in 1942 and the College of Steubenville in 1952 with a degree in Accounting. Robert retired from the former Wheeling Stamping Company in 1990. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Martins Ferry, Disable American Veterans, American Legion Post #52, and Ionic Lodge # 438 F. & A. M. all of Bellaire, OH, Osiris Shriners, and Legion of Honor, both of Wheeling, WV. He was also the treasurer of Big Band 200 Club and a veteran of the U.S. Army WW II where he was in Company F 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn K. (Krinke) Unterzuber. Surviving are a son Robert (Debbie) Unterzuber, II of Martins Ferry, two daughters Marla U. (Stephen Rufus) Milsted of Westerville, OH and Rosalyn U. (Steven Swann) Jones of LaCanada, CA, a sister Alice (Bill) Rhodabarger of Murfreesboro, TN, four grandchildren Cassie and Cailtin Milsted, Trent and Tyler Jones, two step granddaughters Amber and Kylene Kuzma, and his special companion Donna Malechowski of Yorkville, OH. Friends will be received Tues., 6-8 PM and Wed., 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Thurs. Nov. 16, 2006 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Sharon Van Dam officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH Full military services will be held at the funeral home by the Belmont County Council of V.F.W.
