Together Again,

Robert Andrew Vargo, 96 of St. Clairsville, OH died peacefully on November 11, 2025 at Belmont Manor Care Center. Bob was born July 31, 1929 son of the late Rose and Steven Vargo . He retired from Picoma Industries in Martins Ferry, OH, ushered at Ohio State University home football games, worked at Jamboree in the Hills, and ushered at the Capitol Theater in Wheeling, WV.  He loved golfing, walking, and attending home football games at Martins Ferry. He especially enjoyed playing cards with friends, as well as traveling, dancing and sitting on the front porch swing with his beloved wife Marie. Marie was the love of his life and he always liked to tell people, "How could one woman live in such marital bliss for so many years." His faith in God marked his character and he was very involved in his church. But more than anything he loved spending time with his family. Christmas was his favorite time of the year and he loved decorating the house in preparation for when the family gathered to spend time together. He was a wonderful and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend who lived his life wanting to make everyone laugh and be happy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters Steve Vargo, Anna Colman, John Vargo, Mary Potnik, Elizabeth Veres, Julia Vargo, Jenny Formella, Helen Demcheck, and Alex Vargo.

He is survived by sibling Kenneth Vargo.

Bob is survived by daughters Vicki (Dan) Newsome of Seneca, SC and Debbie (Chuck) Cenkus of St. Clairsville, OH. He has four grandchildren: Patrick (Lisa) Coughenour; Chuck (Katie) Cenkus; Lauren (Jed) Ott and Nate (Alex) Newsome. Ten great grandchildren include: Miles and Hadlie Coughenour; Olivia and Weston Ott, Elek, Luke and Levi Cenkus and Penelope, Knox and Hazel Grace Newsome. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive Bob.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Belmont Manor for taking excellent care of Bob during his stay there.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 13, 2025 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church in St. Clairsville, OH. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a contribution be made to your favorite charity.
