Roger L. Higgs, 84, of Sagamore St., Orlando, FL formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Jul. 20, 2006 at Orlando Regional Hospital, Orlando, FL. He was born Jul. 18, 1922 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Robert and Susan (Tuttle) Higgs. He was retired from the Orlando Regional Hospital, Orlando, FL. Roger was a member of the Power Drive Baptist Church and American Legion both of Orlando, FL and a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife Naomi (Yougher) Higgs, two brothers Orran and Robert Higgs and a sister Norma Ware. Surviving are five daughters Judy Potter, Bev (Cliff) Lant, Cathy Mandjiew, Sue (Dave) Crandall and Melinda (Dave) Baker, a brother Earl (Lucille) Higgs of Martins Ferry, fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Friends will be received Tues., 6 & 9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wed., July 26, 2006 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Joseph Sanders officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Full military graveside services by the Belmont County Council of the American Legion.
