Ronald W. McConnaughy 71, of Brookside, passed away Monday October 25, 2021, at his home. He was born June 13, 1950, in Wheeling, a son of the late William and Marie (Zeik) McConnaughy.

He was retired from St. Joseph Parish, a former employee of Romig Roofing, and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Wolfhurst. He was a member of the Bridgeport Foresters Club, a graduate of St. John's Catholic School class of 1968, he was an avid Notre Dame, Cleveland Browns, and New York Yankee fan. Ron also played baseball for the Barton Braves.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his buddy "Chewy".

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Deborah (Custer) McConnaughy, a daughter Cassie (Joel) Sansone of Warwood, a brother Brian (Carolyn) McConnaughy of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, a brother-in-law James (Lori) Custer Jr., mother-in-law Dolores Custer, a nephew Matt Custer, a niece Kayla (Kody) Starkey, his new buddy Rocco and many loving cousins.

Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Thursday October 28, 2021, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church Wolfhurst with Fr. John Mucha as celebrant, interment in Greenwood Cemetery Wheeling. Wake service will be on Thursday at 2 pm.
