Obituary

Ronald Gene Pavlovic, 90, of Dillonvale, passed peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, reunited with his beloved wife, Charlotte, and his cherished son, Kurt. He was born on August 17, 1935, in Dillonvale, Ohio, son of the late Joseph and Emily Pavlovic.

A 1953 graduate of Dillonvale High School, Ron was a standout athlete whose presence on the field was matched only by the devotion of the young woman cheering him on from the sidelines — Charlotte, the love of his life. He often spoke of those early days, when she stood proudly as a cheerleader and majorette, already certain their futures were intertwined.

Together, Ron and Charlotte built a life rooted in love, family, and tradition. Their home atop the tallest hill in Dillonvale — perfectly placed for sled riding and lovingly adorned each Christmas — became the gathering place for countless birthdays, holidays, baptisms, and graduations. Around their table — stocked thanks to Ron's familiar trips to the local Dollar Store for all of the family's favorite snacks — cups of tea, Schwann pizzas, Doritos, and bakery treats set the scene for countless memories, shared stories, and a warmth that welcomed everyone who entered. Ron spent his final years under the thoughtful and compassionate care of the nurses, aides, and staff of Continuous Care at Wheeling Hospital. More than caregivers, they became an extended family to him, treating him with dignity, patience, and genuine love. Through their constant attention and heartfelt kindness, they gave Ron not only comfort and peace, but a true sense of home — a place where he was deeply cared for and cherished. His family is profoundly grateful for the devotion and compassion they showed him every day.

In addition to his wife and son, Ron was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are daughters, Cindy (Ed) Richards of Dillonvale and Ronee (Rich) Playko of Columbus; brother, Richard (Bonnie d. 2005) Pavlovic of Kenton; five grandchildren, Matt Roshak of Columbus, Tara Richards of Pittsburgh, Brandi (Jade) Waligura of Colerain, Halli (Keegan) Driscoll of Norfolk, and Will Pavlovic of Columbus; several nieces and nephews; and three great-grandchildren Charlotte, Eloise and Jack Driscoll of Norfolk.

Family and friends will be welcomed at Wilson Funeral Home – 154 2nd Street in Dillonvale – on Sunday, December 28 from 2 to 4PM and 6 to 8PM. A memorial service will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, December 29 at 11AM.
