Ronald R. Scarfpin, 72, of Lehigh Acres, FL, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH, died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Hope Health Care Services, Lehigh Acres, FL. He was born August 19, 1942 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Roy E. and Eveyln J. (Logue) Scarfpin. Ron retired from the Yorkville Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. He was a member of the Martins Ferry Fire Dept. Vigilant Engine Company and Italian-American Club. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Vincent Scarfpin. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Susan A. (Novotny) Scarfpin, children; Ronald (Jacqueline) Scarfpin, Jr. of Tampa, FL, John (Katie) Scarfpin of New Bern, NC, James Scarfpin of Ft. Meyers, FL, Todd Scarfpin of Piedmont, OH, Geri Scarfpin and Elizabeth Weiss both of Jeffersonville, IN, grandchildren; Heather Weiss, Danisha Scarfpin, Gabrielle Scarfpin and Ian Scarfpin, and a great grandchild, Brody Vincent Weiss. Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 pm where services will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 at 10:00 am with Pastor Van D. Fisher officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Martins Ferry Fire Dept. services will be held Friday at 7 pm. Military Honors will be presented at the funeral home by the Belmont County Council of the American Legion, Saturday at 9:45 am prior to services.
