Ronald M. Smith, Sr. 85, of Martins Ferry, OH passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2022, peacefully surrounded by his family at Wheeling Hospital.  He was born March 18, 1937, the son of the late Harry and Mary (Survais) Smith-Semple.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Ann Smith.

He was retired proprietor of the Ron Smith Contracting Company, a member of the St John Lutheran Church of Martins Ferry, past president of the Martins Ferry Lions Club, 50 plus year member of the Martins Ferry Fire Department – Engine Company #3.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Joyce (Nieman) Smith, children; Rhonda (Randy) Temeles of Wheeling, Ronald (Alexis) Smith, Jr of Martins Ferry, grandchildren; Philip (Stefanie) Trouten, Jenna Trouten, Natalie Temeles, Justin (Amanda) Smith and Dustin (Natasha)Smith, great-grandchild Claire Trouten, brother; Harry Smith of MI.  and his good friend Bob Morris, Sr.

Memorial visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2022, from 2-4 at the Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Firemen Service at 4pm at the funeral home. A Private service to be held at the convenience of the family.
