Rosalene O. (Covington ) Hanson Shane, 82, of Concord St., Martins Ferry, OH died Mon. Feb. 20, 2006 at Heartland -Lansing Nursing Home, Bridgeport, OH. She was born May 30, 1923 in Junior ,WV a daughter of the late Allen and Pearl (Shaeffer) Covington. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Samuel Hanson, her second husband Robert W. Shane, a son William Hanson, six brothers Iven, Claude, Allen, Burton, Dick and Raymond Covington, and a sister Creola Perko. Surviving are a daughter Opal (Lynn) Harding of Warren, OH, a son Terry W. (Chris) Hanson of Dothan, AL, a sister Betty Howes of Scio, OH, nine grandchildren William, Robert, Allen, Jacqueline, Cheryl, Samuel, Roberta, Terry and Bryan, and thirteen great grandchildren. Friends will be received Sun., 6-8 PM and Mon., Feb., 27, 2006 from 12:30 PM until time of services at 1:30 PM with Minister Rod Kasler officiating at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry.
