Rose Benczo, 86, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008. She passed away peacefully at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, OH. Family was by her bedside. She was born August 8, 1921 in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Nagy) Benczo. In addition to her parents, four brothers, Roy, John, Albert and James Benczo and a sister, Margaret Blaine, preceded her in death. She lived with her sister Erma for the past fifteen years. Erma and Rose resided the last two years at Abbington of Powell Assisted Living in Powell, OH. Prior to that, they lived in Martins Ferry. Her sister Erma Zatezalo, sisters-in-law Mary Benczo and Joanne Caldwell, many nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews survive her. She was a very dear sister, beloved aunt, devoted great-aunt, and wonderful friend to many. She enriched the lives of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Martins Ferry and Pioneers Club of America. She was retired from the former C & P Telphone Co. of Wheeling, WV. Interment is in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. At Rose's request no service was held. Arrangements by Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH.
