Obituary

HALLOY, Rose I., 82, of Wolfhurst, Ohio, loving wife and mother, fulfilled her lifelong dream of meeting the Lord on September 7. She passed away at home with her devoted husband and children at her side. Rose was born July 28, 1926 in New Bedford, Mass., the daughter of the late William Gemme and Mary (Booth) Gemme. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry and Bill, and sister, Blanche. Surviving are her husband, Emil; three daughters, Sherley Halloy of Cape Charles, Virginia, Carol (Tony) Vavra of Bridgeport, and Ginger Barcus of German Village; five sons, Bob (Michele) of The Villages, Florida, James of Westerville, Bill (Valerie) of Pataskala, Dick (Kati) of Sarasota, Florida, and Ken (Sharon) of New Albany; 16 grandchildren, Sharyn Fisher of Pittsburgh, Michelle (Michael) Heath of St. Clairsville, Jennifer (John) Henthorne of Columbus, Alan (Leah) of Atlanta, A.J. (Angie) Auman of Pataskala, Rob of Medina, Brandon Barcus of Denver, Heather Halloy of Gorham, Maine, Eric of Sarasota, Fla., Tess Halloy of Edwardsville, Pa., Carly Barcus of Los Angeles, Bryan of Sarasota, Fla., Carolyn Halloy of Westerville, Rachel Halloy of Sarasota, Fla., Nicklaus and Mackenzie Halloy of New Albany; and eight great grandchildren, Kenny, Nathan, Kyle, Emily, Scotty, Jake, Joey, Akira and Noah. While Rose ""lived"" for her family, she was still giving of herself to several worthy causes. She was a hospice volunteer; Eucharistic minister; taught first communion and CDC classes; was active in the Belmont County Literacy Program and served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader.Friends and family will be received at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, Ohio, on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wolfhurst with Father John Mucha as celebrant. Interment will follow at Linwood Cemetery, Blaine, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to either St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wolfhurst or Valley Hospice.
