Rose A. (Hoffman) Weidetz, 85, formerly of Seabrights Ln., Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, June 29, 2007 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. She was born May 4, 1922 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the last Edgar and Freda (Gunther) Hoffman. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Yacht Club both of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn A. Gibson, four sisters Bernice Halverson, Mary Ellen Swearingen, Elizabeth Harvey, and Freda Ferguson and three brothers Fr. Edgar Hoffman, Fred Hoffman and Francis Hoffman. Surviving are her husband Alvin L. Weidetz, Sr., a son Alvin L. (Lil) Weidetz, Jr. of Pensacola, Fl, two daughters Linda Schultz of Martins Ferry and Carolyn (David) Todd of Woodsfield, OH; six grandchildren Alvania Thompson, Michelle Bryant, Alvin Weidetz, III, Erik Schultz, Jennifer Schultz, and David L. Todd, III and seven great grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday 12-3 and 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Monday., July 2, 2007 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Rosary devotions will be recited Sunday at 3:00 PM in the funeral home.
