Rose M. (Malatesta) Marangoni, 88, of Martins Ferry, OH died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. She was born Dec. 7, 1920 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Flory and Emma (Uphold) Malatesta. She retired from Nickels Bakery of Martins Ferry. Rose was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Martins Ferry and Baker's Union Local #19 of Cleveland, OH. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers Leonard, Marshall, Paul, Canado, and Carl Malatesta, and two sisters Josephine Buonamici and Lena Reese. Surviving are her husband Henry W. Marangoni, a son Allen (Donna) Marangoni of Martins Ferry, three daughters Anita (Butch) Marvin of Wheeling, WV, Emma (Pat) Rosanski of Martins Ferry, and Patty (Dave) Edwards of St. Clairsville, OH, a brother Julius Malatesta of Martins Ferry, five sisters Phoebe Kronjaeger of Wheeling, Isabelle (Anthony) Stopera and Rita (Ron) Roth both of Colerain, OH, Ann Davies of Wake Forest, NC, and Jenny Malatesta of Ft. Mills, SC, six grandchildren Laurie Yonak, Dr. Gina Gabriel, Rhonda Bronzell, and David, Michael, and Derek Edwards, and four great grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating. Entombment follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Rosary devotions will be recited Monday at 3:00 pm followed by Wake Services at 7:30 pm both in the funeral home.
