Rose Marie Palmer, 92, formerly of Cemetery Rd., Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009 at Country Club Retirement Center, Bellaire, OH. She was born Aug. 15, 1916 in Chester, WV a daughter of the late Nicklos and Theresa (Leto) Palmer. She was a former employee of Martins Ferry Hospital. Rose was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and the Catholic Women's Club both of Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers Louis, Lonnie, Albert, James, and Anthony Palmer, and two sisters Mary Cavallaro, and Iris Ann Palmer. Surviving are two brothers John Palmer of Martins Ferry, and Dominic Palmer of Bridgeport, OH, a sister Jane Colelli of Belle Vernon, PA, nephew Joseph (Dana) Palmer of Martins Ferry, nieces Judy (Bill) Morgan of Bellaire, OH, Diane (David) Smart of Athens, OH, and Linda (George) Bartolomeo of Kansas City, MO, Terry August of Los Angeles, CA, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a grand nephew. Friends will be Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Rev. Thomas A. Magary officiating. Entombment follows in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Martins Ferry. Rosary devotions will be recited Wednesday at 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
