Roy Allen Bennett 68, of Martins Ferry passed away Sunday August 23, 2026, at Forest Hills Health Center St. Clairsville. He was born January 24, 1958, in Martins Ferry, a son of the late Charles C. Sr. and Jean Ann (Heslop) Bennett.

He was a employee of the former Bennett Flooring Co. and a retired employee of Cabela’s in the Highlands. He was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church Martins Ferry, he loved bowling, he was a member of the NRA, and the National Turkey Federation. His passion was turkey hunting.

Roy is survived by his loving wife Cheryl (Ryan) Bennett, his children James Bennett, Tim (Stacey) Woodland, Aaron (Courtney) Woodland, Chad (Alecia) Steves, his brother Charles “Chuck” (Patty) Bennett Jr. and his sister Linda (Bruce Shane) Bennett, eight grandchildren Braiden Bennett, Kayden Steves, Marlie Steves, Nathan Woodland Alex Woodland, Alex Woodland, Violet Woodland, Harper Woodland, and Sydney Woodland, also several nieces and nephews.

According to Roy’s wishes there will be no visitation, and private interment will held at the convenience of the family. Wilson Funeral-Heslop Chapel 415 Walnut St. Martins Ferry assisting the family. The family would like to thank all his friends for their support they gave him during his illness, and to the staff of Forest Hills Nursing Home for their fine care and compassion.
