Roy E. Boyer Roy E. Boyer, 85, of Elk Ave., Shadyside, OH, formerly of Ferryview Rd., Martins Ferry, OH died Sat., May 24, 2003 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV. He was born Feb. 16, 1918 in Bellaire, a son of the late Clemen and Bertha (Butts) Boyer. He was retired from the Martins Ferry plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Roy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry, Shadyside Lodge #724 F. & A. M., and the AARP both of Shadyside. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Carl Boyer and two sisters Virginia Veverka and Mildred Melanko. Surviving are his wife of 62 years Helen L. (McCarty) Boyer, a son Roy Allen Boyer of Yorkville, a daughter Kathleen M. Boyer of Irvine, CA, two grandchildren Chad Boyer and Jill Boyer Tyler and two great grandchildren. Friends will be received Sun. 7-9 PM and Mon. 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Tue., May 27, 2003 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence officiating. Burial follows at Belmont County Memorial Park, St. Clairsville. Masonic Ritualistic services will be held Mon. at 7:30 PM in the funeral home.
