Roy Crawford Downing, 81, of Wheeling, WV, passed Monday November 21, 2016 at Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center. He was born August 6, 1935, a son of the late Barney and Leota Burch Downing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Ethel "Becky" Greathouse Downing, sisters: Rose Minton and Mildred Roberts, brothers: Bill, Barney and Edward Downing. Roy is survived by a daughter Jane Horvath of Wheeling, grandson: Matthew Horvath, a sister Georgeanna Gilham, two brothers in law: Ray Minton, Frank Greathouse, his dog Baby, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday November 23, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio. Inurnment will be at Farmington cemetery at a later date.
