Roy R. Mamula Roy R. Mamula, 83, of Mika Dr., Martins Ferry, OH died Wed., Mar. 20, 2002 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born Mar. 5, 1919 in Lafferty a son of the late Mele and Sgeta Turbovich Mamula. He retired from Ironworker's Local #549 A.F.L.-C.I.O of Wheeling, and was a member of the Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church of Steubenville, V.F.W. Post #3613 and American Legion Post #38 both of Martins Ferry, and Eagle Aerie #995 of Bridgeport. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Mike, Duke, and George Mamula, two sisters Rose Kovalchick and Helen Schoffield, and two step- sisters Mildred and Pauline Ogresovich. Surviving are his wife Mildred "Miltsa" Mikesinovich Mamula, four brothers Charles Mamula of Detroit, MI, Sam Mamula of Martins Ferry, Eli Mamula of Richmond, OH, and Nick Mamula of Bridgeville, PA, a sister Anna Horsfield of Glendale, CA,a step-brother Mitchell Ogresovich of Martins Ferry, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM where services will be held Sat. at 1:00 PM with Fr. F. Rade Merick officiating. Burial follows with full military graveside honors by the Belmont Co. Council of the American Legion in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. Pomen services will be held Friday at 3:00 PM in the funeral home.
