Roy Michael "Mike" Parker, 77, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away in Astoria Place, Barnesville on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 surrounded by his family.  Mike was born May 25, 1946 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, a son of the late Roy Mayford Parker and Eula Blanche Smith Allen.`

In 1977 Mike started Parker and Parker Insurance in Barnesville along with his wife, Betsy.  Previously he had been employed by Ohio University, SEMO State University, and the former Conalco Plant near Hannibal, Ohio.  He had served as past Lieutenant Governor of Kiwanis.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by an infant brother, Richard Aiden Parker, and his step-father, Averell "AC" Allen.  Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Betsy Lou Hickman Parker; a daughter, Michele Lee (Brad) McGee; two grandchildren, Megan Michele (Scott) Perko and Thaddeus Hickman Parker McGee; 2 step-grandchildren, Isaac and Sara McGee; a great grandson, Scott Michael Perko; three sisters, Sharon (Ronnie) Randolph, Beverly (Eric) Zimmer, Deborah (Charlie) Myers; a brother, Thomas (Earnest) Allen; also his faithful dog, Pippin.

In keeping with Mike's wishes, private services will be held at a time of the family's choosing.
