Roy M. Riethmiller, 92, of Martins Ferry, OH died Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Valley Hospice Care Center North, Steubenville, OH. He was born March 8, 1920 in Martins Ferry a son of the late Harold H. and Myrtle (Martin) Riethmiller. He was retired from the Martins Ferry School District where he was an Art Teacher for 25 years and also taught adult evening classes. Roy was a 79 year member of the First Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry. He painted over 1,000 oil paintings including a 5' by 25' mural located in the lobby of the Citizens Bank of Martins Ferry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Constance M. "Connie" (Miller) Riethmiller, two brothers Robert and Wayne Riethmiller. Surviving are his two sons David (Diane) Riethmiller and Paul (Paula) Riethmiller both of Martins Ferry, his twin brother Ray Riethmiller of Circleville, OH, five grandchildren Jessica (Brandon) Rossi, and Scot, Ryan, Amie and Erik Riethmiller, and two great granddaughters Reese Riethmiller and Kennedy Rossi. Friends will be received Sunday 12-3 pm & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry where services will be held Monday, July 16, 2012 at 10:30 am with Pastor Joe Ellis and Rev. David Stammerjohn officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 400 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH. Deacons of the church will hold services Sunday at 7 pm at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be made by signing the guest book at the top of this page.
