Rudolph R. "Rudy" Vavrock 78 of National Road Bridgeport died Thursday December 30, 2010 at Peterson Rehabilitation Center, Wheeling. He was born May 24, 1932 in West Wheeling, a son of the late Rudolph Sr. and Bernice Bugaj Vavrock. He was retired after 50 years as a carpenter with local #3, also retired Maintenance Director for the Wheeling Housing Authority, owner of Vav's Vintage Auto, a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church Wolfhurst, a US Army veteran of the Korea War, a member of the NRA, and Antique Automobile Club of America, and a graduate of Bridgeport High School Class of 1950. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother William Vavrock. Rudy is survived by his wife of 58 years Betty Kozel Vavrock,Three sons Richard (Janet) Vavrock, and Terry Vavrock both of Bridgeport, and Rudy (Amy) Vavrock of Colerain, three sisters Eleanor Dallison of Bridgeport, Patty (Tom) Brenkle of Hartville, Ohio, Kathy (Bill) Sherwood of Newton Falls, a brother Kenneth (Bonnie) Vavrock of Salineville, five grandchildren Richard Vavrock Jr. "RJ", Rachelle (Nathan) Brinker, Jenae Vavrock, Brittany Vavrock, and Terry Vavrock Jr "TJ", two great grandchildren Malachi Lewis, and Coen Brinker. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside, Monday January 3, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8, where services will be held Tuesday at 11 am with Fr, John Mucha officiating.
