Ruth L. Dennis-Gross 85, of Shadyside formerly of Martins Ferry, passed away Thursday December 9, 2021, at Wheeling Hospital. She was born July 23, 1936, in Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late Harry L. and Edith I. (Loy) Dennis.

She was a graduate of Martins Ferry High School, and the Ruth Brant School of Nursing in 1957, worked at University Hospital in Columbus as head nurse in the operating room for 6 years. She was staff nurse and Nursing Supervisor form the former Bellaire Hospital for 45 years, a lifelong member of the 1st Presbyterian Martins Ferry. She was a past ruling elder and clerk of Sessions at the Church, and a past deacon, and a member of the Humane Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Sylvia King.

Ruth is survived by her daughter Leah (Victor George) Gross of Shadyside a grandson David Banks, granddaughter Kathryn Banks, and a sister Martha Dougherty of Wheeling.

According to Ruth's wishes there will be no visitation and private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Wilson Funeral Home Heslop Chapel 415 Walnut Street Martins Ferry assisting the family.
