Ruth M. Johnson 78 of Bridgeport died Monday August 8, 2011 at her home. She was born January 21, 1933 in Smithfield, a daughter of the Late Lewis and Margaret A. West Johnson. She retired from the Belmont County Drug and Alcohol Council; she was also a member of the Apostolic Faith Temple Church in Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Marshall G. Gosa Jr. and a brother Virgil West. Ruth is survived by two sons Terry L. (Marva) Gosa of Columbia SC, and Richard Lee Johnson of Erie PA, a daughter Dr. Henia D. Johnson of Cleveland, a brother Eugene (Phyllis) West of Wheeling, and a sister; June Samuels of Bellaire, nine grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. According to Ruth's wishes there will be no visitation and private services will be held at the convince of the family.
