Ruth I. (Davis), McNickle Murray, 87, formerly of Wayne Hays Towers and Pearl St., Martins Ferry, OH was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Long Term Care, Martins Ferry. She was born Oct. 17, 1922 in Glenns Run, Martins Ferry, a daughter of the late William E. and Viola (Ochsenbein) Davis. Ruth was a retired legal secretary. She was a long time member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry and is leaving behind many close friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Murray, her sons Raymond R. McNickle and James E. McNickle, two brothers Leroy and Samuel Davis, five sisters Rachel DeGarmo, Wilhelmina Scott, Loretta Sutton, Viola Davis and Marie Davis. Surviving are a brother E. John "Jack" (Mary) Davis of Oregon, IL, a sister Adabelle Schwender of Martins Ferry, three grandchildren Marie (David) Trevino of Haslett, MI, Amanda (Terry Blon) McNickle of Lansing, OH, and Jamie (Daniel) Gramatikos of Martins Ferry, and four great-grandchildren, Sarah and Zachary Trevino, Charles Blon, and Alexandra Gramatikos, respectively. Friends will be received Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 from 10 am until time of services at 1:00 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Condolences to the family may be made by signing the guest book at the top of this page.
