Ruth Ann (Richards) Wensyel, 79, went home to our Lord on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009 after an extended illness in Lake Worth, FL. She was born May 28, 1930 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late William C. and Ruth Anna (Reese) Richards. Ruth was an active member of the First Christian Church, initially in Martins Ferry, where she also taught classes at the Martins Ferry Christian Preschool and later at the Sharon Christian Church in West Palm Beach where she served the Lord in many capacities from visiting the sick to summer Bible School. The family and her church were the most important aspects in her life. Ruth has touched so many lives and given so much of her self. She will be missed by all who knew her as a great lady. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Donald R. Wensyel, three brothers Bert, Fred and William Richards, and three sisters Mary Sigon, Genevieve Richards, and Helen Schwender. Surviving are three sons Donald (Barbara) Wensyel of Martins Ferry, Scott (Melanie) Wensyel of Zanesville, OH, and Sean (Lori) Wensyel of Wellington, FL, six daughters Melody (Stewart) Cohen of Martins Ferry, Diana (Bob) Reed of Columbus, OH, Janice McConaghy of Lake Worth, FL, Kimberly Riser of Wheeling, WV, Tammy Williams of Martins Ferry, and Robin Wensyel of Lake Worth, FL., a sister Loretta (Bernard) West of Detroit, MI., seventeen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Friday, Sept. 25, 2009at 1:00 pm with Minister Rod Kasler officiating.
