Ruth (Montgomery) Russell, 95, of Martins Ferry, OH, died March 19, 2013 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV. She was born Jan. 23, 1918 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Joseph B. "Ben" and Garnet (Maguire) Montgomery. Ruth retired as a receptionist for the former Ohio Valley Medical Center School of Nursing Residence Hall. She was a lifelong member of the First U. Methodist Church of Martins Ferry and a former member of the Martins Ferry Women's Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband M. C. Russell, a brother G. William Montgomery and a sister Olive Montgomery. Surviving are her daughters; Nancy M. Russell and Marjorie (Bob) Wacker both of Martins Ferry and a grandson Robert D. "Rob" (Fiancé Sue Church) Wacker, Jr. of Martins Ferry. Friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Sunday 4-8 pm, where services will be held Monday, March 25, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Van D. Fisher officiating.
