Ruth A. (Trouten) Barries passed from this life in her 104th year on May 23, 2016 at Beacon House in St. Clairsville, OH, which has been her home for the last 6 years. She was born October 11, 1912, a daughter of the late James Ephriam and Elizabeth Jane (Owings) Trouten. Ruth was employed in the laboratory at Martins Ferry Hospital for 37 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William "Bill" Barries who died in 1987, her son Russell W. Barries, brothers, Alfred and James Trouten and sisters, Lena Hayes, Ella VanHorne and Velma Half. Surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth Jane Reese of Colerain Pike, Martins Ferry, nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. A private funeral service will be held at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH with Rev. Margie Carr officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
