Sally A. (Hughes) Strama Ellis, 79, of Yorkville, OH, died Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Belmont Manor Nursing Home, St. Clairsville, OH. She was born February 26, 1937, daughter of the late Harold L. Hughes and Elizabeth (Scheehle) McConville. Sally was a retired teacher with 40 years service to the Martins Ferry City School District. She was an avid bowler and helped to initiate the Head Start program of Martins Ferry, OH. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Scott Hughes and a granddaughter, Ashley Strama. Surviving are her children, Jordan M. Strama of Wheeling, WV, Jo Ellen (Ray) Roshak of Yorkville, OH and Jeffrey W. (Janice) Strama of Russellville, AR, a brother, Thomas (Linda) Hughes of Mt. Pilot, NC, step-sister, Candace (McConneville) Willhite of Gallia, OH, grandchildren, Heather (Tony) Span, Jerrod Crothers and Justina Strama, six great grandchildren and William Ellis. Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Tuesday, May 24, 2016, from 12 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to: Valley Hospice, 10686 Ste.
