Samuel Bruno Dolfi, 87, of Newtown, Ohio died Monday September 30, 2008 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, Ohio. He was born May 4th, 1921 in Connersville, Ohio, the son of the late Faustino and Angelina Dolfi. Sam and his wife, Dorothy, were married May 14, 1949 by Father Jerome Rojewski and Reverend John Sharp. Sam and Dorothy are the proud parents of Craig Arthur Dolfi and the late Bruce William Dolfi, who passed August 23, 2007. He was a Graduate of Dillonvale High School, class of 1940, a former coal miner at Hanna Coal Co. - Dunglen Mine and a retired Furnace Operator at Satraloy in Mingo Junction, Oh. He was a Veteran of W.W.II serving as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, a member of the Dillonvale McCook Post 529, Colerain V.F.W. along with being a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale. Sam enjoyed watching T.V., visiting Las Vegas, gardening and his precious grandchildren, Kaila and Chadd, which he called the family jewels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Geno and Fred Dolfi; a son, Bruce Dolfi; a nephew Donald L. Jarvis Jr.; and a godchild Dorothy. Sam is survived by his wife Dorothy J.(Jarvis) Dolfi, a son Craig Dolfi and his wife Diane of Newtown, two grandchildren Chadd and Kaila Dolfi along with four Godchildren Suzann, Jack, Wilma and Joe. Visitation will be on Thursday 6 - 8 and Friday 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 at Wilson Funeral Home 154 Second Street, Dillonvale, Oh. where a vigil service will be on Friday at 7:30. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Dillonvale with Monsignor John Kolesar as celebrant. Interment will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, Oh. Full military graveside services will be conducted by the Dillonvale American Legion McCook Post 529. The Light is in the Window.
